Bödvar Saga: Loss

The obverse captures the devastating moment that changes Bödvar's life forever. Bound in chains, the warrior is forced to witness his wife Astrid dying amid the flames of their destroyed village. In her final moments, she reveals that their daughter Sunneva has been abducted, setting Bödvar on a relentless quest to find his child and seek justice.

The reverse depicts the sacred Mount Thorbjørn, dramatically shaped like a roaring bear and symbolising strength and divine power. The Sowilo rune, waterfalls, magical runic circle, Germanic shield with double-headed eagle and Bödvar's chains combine to create a richly symbolic design connecting the warrior's destiny to the mythical mountain.
