St George and the Dragon

The reverse presents a contemporary reimagining of Benedetto Pistrucci’s famous St George and the Dragon design, an image synonymous with sovereign coinage for more than two centuries.

A warrior on horseback is depicted brandishing his sword above the dragon, surrounded by a decorative beaded border. The design also incorporates “AUSTRALIA,” the 2026 year-date and The Perth Mint’s traditional “P” mintmark.

A special “100” privy mark commemorates what would have been the 100th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II, adding further historical significance to the 2026 release.
